Description

A Parade of Horribles is the eighth book in Matt Dinniman’s Dungeon Crawler Carl series, continuing the fantasy LitRPG adventure as Carl and Princess Donut reach the tenth floor of the dungeon.

After Faction Wars, chaos and mass panic spread outside the dungeon. Inside, Carl and Donut are forced into a new set of tasks that seem surprisingly normal. At least, normal for Dungeon Crawler World.

Races. Get from point A to point B, and do not come in last. After each race, they choose an upgrade for their vehicle, and the track becomes more difficult. It all feels too simple, too ordinary, and too calm for a dungeon that has never played fair.

Strange glitches are appearing more often. Whispers are spreading about the mysterious eleventh floor, something the system AI calls A Parade of Horribles. Nobody, not even the showrunners, knows what that means. The AI only describes it as a coming-out party for the ages.

Carl knows something is wrong. The rules of this floor have taken away his agency, and he refuses to accept business as usual. So he begins planning something dangerous, secret, and impossible to share with his friends.

If it goes wrong, it will not only mean the end of Carl and Donut. The stakes are higher than they have ever been.

This print edition also includes part eight of the exclusive bonus story “Backstage at the Pineapple Cabaret.”
