From #1 international bestselling author Charlie Donlea comes Summit Lake, a suspense novel about a murdered law student, the reporter assigned to uncover her story and the secrets hidden beneath a seemingly peaceful mountain town.
Summit Lake, nestled in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, seems too beautiful to be touched by violence. But first-year law student Becca Eckersley, the daughter of a powerful attorney, has been brutally murdered there, leaving the town shaken and the police without a clear suspect.
Investigative reporter Kelsey Castle is sent to cover the case. At first, she expects a straightforward assignment, but the brutality of the crime and the efforts to keep details quiet suggest something far more complicated.
As Kelsey digs deeper, she begins piecing together Becca’s friendships, relationships and private life. The more she learns, the stronger her connection to the dead woman becomes.
Following Becca’s footsteps may be the only way to uncover the truth about what happened in Summit Lake, while forcing Kelsey to confront parts of her own past along the way.
