Description
When the Night Comes Knocking is an Appalachian horror novel about estranged siblings, buried guilt and a terrifying local legend that may be all too real.
Jane has not spoken to her brother Thomas since the accident that nearly killed them both. Their drive through the North Georgia mountains is already strained when they stop at a roadside convenience store and a man stumbles inside with a mutilated body, claiming that a monster attacked them.
At first, no one believes him. But when the next person to leave the store is brutally killed, the group begins to fear the legend surrounding the mountains: a beast that hunts those carrying guilty hearts.
Trapped inside with a group of strangers, Jane and Thomas soon realise that everyone has something to hide. As fear grows and the survivors begin turning on one another, exposing the guiltiest person among them starts to feel like their only chance of staying alive.
Claustrophobic and tense, When the Night Comes Knocking combines supernatural horror, sibling estrangement and survival as Jane and Thomas are forced to confront both the creature outside and the secrets that have kept them apart.
